The Great Outdoors Come in With 'Scapes, a Devoted Photographic Trek Across a Multitude of Terrains

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - July 7, 2009) - Photographer Mark Siddall demonstrates the scope of his view in 'Scapes, the latest exhibit at the Mark Siddall Gallery.

'Scapes will run from July 16 to August 8, with an opening reception on Wednesday, July 15, from 6 to 10 p.m.

In this latest exhibit, Siddall explores a colourful canvas of diverse outdoor landscapes: urban and rural, winter and spring, water and land. The artist's susceptible lens captures the essence of a range of natural scenes in striking photos that invite visitors to marvel at how much beauty is contained in the everyday. Come, and be moved by the photographer's delicate visual grasp of the gravitational miracle of a waterfall, the solitary journey of a country fence, the enduring indemnity of a forest bridge.

It is under Siddall's attentive watch that the marvelous secrets of the natural world come clean. Colours and seasons assume positions of prominence; and time's most mysterious conversion from present to past is uncovered-in transition.

Siddall is an accomplished and award-winning photographer who studied at the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto. His varied work reflects his varied tastes in photographic subject matter, but Siddall's art is always an authentic expression of his interpretation of the world around us. His photography is a treasured part of a number of both private and public collections, including that of the Port Colborne General Hospital.

Mark Siddall Gallery is an artist-run fine-art gallery that seeks to inspire a lively exchange of thoughtful and socially conscious ideas. It is a division of the Maask Group, whose broad portfolio of holdings includes photography, media and technology interests.
