Green Home Cohabitates With Superior Design in New Los Angeles Housing Development

Project7ten First Platinum LEED in Venice, California, Incorporates Environmentally Friendly Products and Practices; Home Open for Public Tours Throughout October; Proceeds Benefiting Healthy Child Healthy World Organization.

VAN NUYS, CA--(Marketwire - October 11, 2007) - CaesarStone Quartz Surfaces is sponsoring project7ten, California's first Platinum LEED (The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) home participating in Residential Pilot Program, authored by the Green Building Counsel. It is a very good example of how a superior green home project can be built without compromising excellent design.

Initiated by green real estate developer Tom Schey, project7ten focuses on educating home builders and homeowners that being environmentally conscious doesn't have to sacrifice great design. Partnering with renowned environmentalist Kelly Meyer, project7ten was built as an environmentally sound residence integrating green, sustainable, recycled products -- it is made up almost entirely from green and sustainable products, all of which have been carefully researched.

CaesarStone Quartz Surfaces, as one the project's sponsors, joins Ford Motor Company, Kohler, GE Monogram & GE Lighting among others. According to Schey, these homes educate society that, "environmentally conscious habits [do] not have to be expensive, difficult or have a boring look and feel to it." CaesarStone provided the quartz countertops for all surfaces of the home including the kitchen and bathrooms. "We have already made a commitment to a better quality environment," says CaesarStone president, Arik Tendler, referring to the ISO 14001 certification the company has earned since incorporating an environmental management system at the manufacturing facilities. "We understand the importance of its message to society." The company has implemented procedures/compliance in an effort to prevent pollution and recycle waste. The products are made from 93 percent natural quartz, one of nature's most abundant minerals, and are non-porous and stain resistant, all of which eliminate the need of chemical sealers, prevent breeding of harmful bacteria, and require less detergent for maintaining and cleaning the surface.

Project7ten will be open to the public Oct. 11-14, Oct. 18-21, Oct. 25-28. Thursday, Friday and Saturday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Cost $20 per ticket. For more information, visit the project website. www.project7ten.com
