Green Life Guru and Ready Solar Team up to Achieve Near Zero Energy Homes

Companies Launch Zero Energy Home Challenge at Mobius LA Event

SANTA MONICA, CA--(Marketwire - October 23, 2007) - Ready Solar and Green Life Guru today announced the launch of the Zero Energy Challenge™, a new collaboration whose mission is to significantly reduce America's home energy usage and eliminate our dependence on coal-fired power plants.

Green Life Guru™, a Santa Monica-based environmental consulting and services company, has partnered with Ready Solar™, an industry leader in modular solar energy systems, to develop a comprehensive protocol for retrofitting of existing homes to perform at an efficiency and sustainability level that achieves near-zero energy status.

Green Life Guru co-founder, Gregg Steiner, states that, "The major offender in the battle against greenhouse gas emissions is our dangerously increasing reliance on fossil fuels. There are 151 new conventional coal-fired power plants currently in development. Seventy-six percent (76%) of all power plant-generated electricity is used to operate buildings, and most of that energy is wasted through inefficient homes. There is vast room for improvement."

Ready Solar CEO, Meredith McClintock, believes that combining Green Life Guru's Energy Star™ home performance testing procedures with a scalable solar solution is a winning proposition. McClintock states: "The goal has always been to create the most cost-effective whole house energy solution. Our customers get the most product for their dollar when installing Ready Solar's standardized solar 'appliances' after their home has been made truly energy efficient."

Green Life Guru, using the Department of Energy's approved Energy Star™ home performance testing equipment, performs a comprehensive evaluation to assess and repair the energy inefficiencies in the home. The home is made as efficient as possible by fixing leakage, airflow, heat penetration from the outside via insulation and Low-E Windows, duct sealing and cutting off non-conditioned airspaces from the home's living space. Installing solar after all home efficiencies have been gained gives homeowners a realistic shot at reaching zero energy status.

"Ready Solar's modular 'Solar in a Box' system offers an easy-to-install, aesthetically superior renewable energy solution at an affordable price," says Steiner. "Purchasing an off-the-shelf solar system eliminates the costly site visits and custom sizing processes, making it easy to select a standardized system just as you would a refrigerator or television. We have practically eliminated the unknown for our customers in purchasing solar. It's stylish, cost-effective and scalable so that homeowners can expand their system as their needs change. No other solar solution in the industry can compare. We encourage everyone to take the Zero Energy Challenge."

Solar in a Box is currently available nationwide. Ready Solar and Green Life Guru are exhibiting at Mobius LA (www.mobiusla.com), October 24-26 in booth # 4.
