Green Mountain Digital Raises $1.475 Million in Series A Financing
Digital Media Start-Up Records Strong Sales as It Approaches First Anniversary
WOODSTOCK, VT--(Marketwire - September 30, 2010) - Green Mountain Digital (GMD), the leading digital media publisher of nature and wildlife field guides, announced today it has secured $1.475 million in a Series A Preferred Stock financing from a group of investors, including the Vermont Seed Capital Fund, LP. The Fund's Manager, David Bradbury, will join the Board of Directors as an Observer.
GMD's Apps combine exceptional content from leading brands with innovative functionality, bringing the wonders of nature and wildlife to the fingertips of users everywhere. The Apps are available on the iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, and Android platforms. GMD's sales have been growing rapidly as the publishing landscape transitions from print to interactive digital media.

In alliance with the National Audubon Society, GMD launched its first product, Audubon Birds: A Field Guide to North America Birds in October 2009, followed by 27 other Audubon branded titles. Most recently, GMD partnered with the Orvis Co., to launch the critically acclaimed Orvis Fly Fishing: The Ultimate Fly Fishing Guide.
GMD's Apps receive continued praise in the digital publishing world, including recent recognition from family-oriented organizations, including PTPA Media (Parent Tested Parent Approved) and CommonSense Media. The Apps consistently earn significant acknowledgment on Apple's iTunes store, including 14 recognitions labeling the Apps "Staff Picks", "What's Hot", "New and Noteworthy", among others. In response to increasing customer demand, GMD plans to have 35 apps in the market by the end of 2010.
