GreenBank Deploys Crossroads Systems' SPHiNX Virtual Tape Appliance for Powerful Data Protection

SPHiNX Answers Compliance Requirements for GreenBank

AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwire - May 5, 2010) -   Crossroads Systems, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: CRDS), a global provider of solutions to connect, protect, secure and restore data, today announced that Greeneville, Tennessee-based GreenBank selected the SPHiNX virtual tape appliance to further enhance compliance with industry data security standards.

A dedicated virtual tape appliance, SPHiNX delivers optimized data protection and resiliency for GreenBank's IBM Power Systems (AS/400) environment that services its corporate headquarters as well as 65 branches throughout Tennessee, Virginia and North Carolina. After an extensive evaluation of the solution, its functionalities and performance, GreenBank now utilizes SPHiNX as a data encryption and replication solution linked to a remote site.

With nearly three months of use, GreenBank reports that SPHiNX surpassed PCI and SOX compliance requirements and decreased operational costs surrounding the maintenance of their tape backup solution. GreenBank had specific backup needs that were tailored by Crossroads to meet its requirements. GreenBank also reports improved security, performance and ease of use, noting that it enabled powerful data encryption capabilities while fully leveraging the bank's existing storage infrastructure.

"Our number one objective was to find a solution that securely replicated and encrypted our data in a manner that met our compliance requirements and didn't cause any headaches," said Jason O'Dell, AVP, IT Manager at GreenBank. "Crossroads Systems was clearly the right choice. Its SPHiNX product provides powerful security while also providing us with welcomed efficiency, cost cutting, and an ability to more fully utilize the data storage infrastructure that we already had in place. Beyond its innovation, Crossroads also consistently provides superior product development and customer service. During and, most importantly, after the acquisition of SPHiNX, Crossroads has demonstrated an outstanding willingness to expand its product roadmap and meet our specific needs. Crossroads proves to be a data security and protection vendor that we value and trust as a true partner."

"We're pleased to announce GreenBank, whose parent company, Green Bankshares, Inc., is the third largest bank holding company headquartered in Tennessee, as one of the latest organizations to choose SPHiNX to help meet and surpass stringent compliance requirements," said Glenn Haley, senior product manager at Crossroads Systems.
