Greenberg Traurig's Neumann Appointed to Hazardous Waste Commission

DENVER, CO -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 2, 2005 -- Greenberg Traurig attorney Chris Neumann has been appointed to the Colorado Hazardous Waste Commission and will complete the remainder of the three-year term vacated by John Daily.

"I look forward to working with other members of the commission to find solutions to some of the complicated hazardous waste issues we have in Colorado," said Neumann, who joined Greenberg Traurig in 2001 with a focus on environmental law.

The Hazardous Waste Commission is comprised of nine gubernatorial appointees selected equally from industry, the public at large and local government or academia. Members of the commission are chosen to ensure that varied areas of expertise and points of view in the hazardous waste arena are represented. Neumann, who also teaches hazardous waste law at the University of Colorado as an adjunct professor, fills one of the academia slots.

At Greenberg Traurig, Neumann represents clients in the retail, petroleum, natural gas, and mining industries on a wide variety of litigation, environmental, natural resources, administrative and insurance coverage matters. He also assists real estate owners and developers in obtaining land use approvals and financial incentives for Brownfields development projects, and in efforts to resolve environmental concerns in complex business transactions.

Neumann has served on the Colorado Air Quality Control Commission since March 2004 and is on the board of directors for the Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments.

He is a graduate of Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland Oregon and has a bachelor of science degree in engineering and environmental science from the University of Notre Dame. He and his wife, Sara, have an eight-month-old daughter, Caitlin.

All Hazardous Waste Commission appointees must be confirmed by the Colorado Senate. Neumann's confirmation will take place during the next session in 2006.
