Group slams psychiatry for child abuse and fraud

warns about national crisis of child drugging with "kiddy cocaine" and suicide-inducing antidepressants Attention: Assignment Editor, City Editor, Health/Medical Editor, Media Editor, News Editor VANCOUVER--(CCNMatthews - July 4, 2005) - On June 28, 2005, The FDA, In the US, has finally ordered labeling changes to methylphenidate [Ritalin] products, including Concerta to warn that these drugs can cause "psychiatric events." These are described as visual hallucinations, suicidal ideation, psychotic behavior, as well as aggression or violent behavior". It should not be too long before Health Canada follows suit.

Besides Concerta and Ritalin, hundreds of thousands of Canadian children and teens have been prescribed SSRIs, or selective seritonin reuptake Inhibitors, and other newer antidepressants for an ever-growing array of bogus illnesses including anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder and social phobia. At least five teenagers in Canada have died, four of suicide,
while being treated with the most widely prescribed antidepressants in Canada and at least 100 other children as young as 18 months old have experienced serious suspected adverse reactions to the pills.

Brian Beaumont, President of the Vancouver chapter of the Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) said, psychiatrists are the biggest drug pushers. Children do have difficulties in life and do have difficulties in school but there are as many Solutions to children's difficulties in life and in school as there are children.. Psychiatry and their drugs should never ever have been an
option in the first place. Psychiatrists stigmatize educational difficulties and market drugs for these conditions. . This is child abuse and Fraud". He concluded.
