HAMILTON - PUBLIC DOLLARS SHOULD BE USED FOR PUBLIC SERVICES

Ontario Federation of Labour Campaign against Privatization Attention: Assignment Editor, Media Editor, News Editor, Photo Editor, Government/Political Affairs Editor TORONTO, MEDIA ADVISORY--(CCNMatthews - May 17, 2006) - "Public dollars should be used for public services and health care dollars should be spent on patient care - not to support private profits," said OFL president Wayne Samuelson. "No one should be allowed to make a profit from essential health care." Samuelson will be in Hamilton on May 18 to meet with media, activists and municipal politicians to discuss the McGuinty Government's drive to privatize essential parts of our public services, including health care and education.

"Privatizing public services is not good for working families. It won't make health care or education more efficient or cheaper. Costs go up, quality goes down and user fees will increase," said Samuelson.
