HBO Black Movie Awards After-Party Sets Stage at Historic Ebell of Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 14, 2006 -- This year's HBO Black Movie Awards After-Party will set stage at the historic Ebell of Los Angeles ( The beautiful venue located in the heart of the City of Angels provides a more than 100-year-old backdrop for HBO to entertain celebrities being honored during the 2006 Black Movie Awards hosted by Tyler Perry and airing October 18 on TNT (

The Ebell has been a favorite of the entertainment and media community for the past 50 years, with 75,000 square feet available for filming, photo shoots, corporate events, weddings, private soirees, fundraisers, and more. One of the nation's oldest institutions, the Ebell of Los Angeles, founded by women in 1894, has much to offer and proves for many corporations and Hollywood celebrities to be the ideal location for traditional and unconventional events.

The Ebell of Los Angeles is an educational and philanthropic organization founded by women in 1894. The mission is to participate in and encourage the educational, cultural and social growth of the diverse Los Angeles community. The Ebell administers a college scholarship program for women and men and a program assisting women in need.
