HCL Technologies Launches Windows 7 Migration Services

Solutions to Reduce Cost of Windows 7 Deployments up to 25 Percent

NOIDA, INDIA--(Marketwire - November 16, 2009) - HCL Technologies Ltd. (HCL), a leading global IT services provider, today announced the launch of its XpressMigrate suite of offerings for Windows 7 migrations, enabling enterprises to minimize risk, bring higher visibility and reduce Windows 7 deployment cost up to 25 percent.

HCL's XpressMigrate suite consists of three offerings:

-- Remote Desktop Deployment Solution for Microsoft Windows 7
-- Application Compatibility Factory Service (ACFS) for Windows 7
-- Application Packaging Service (APFS) for Windows 7

Remote Desktop Deployment offers centralized deployment of the operating system and packaged applications that automate the deployment process for extremely low manual intervention. It also provides assurance against loss of data through a robust user state backup and restoration process for user data and settings. HCL has also developed a Deployment Dashboard at the core of this solution which will provide both an overall and in-depth status report for all deployments. This dashboard gives visibility on milestones like number of deployments completed, failed deployments and status of opened tickets, status view of current active deployments, time taken for deployments, and upcoming schedule for deployments.

The ACFS and APFS offerings provide application compatibility, packaging and re-imaging solutions that offer an accelerated Windows 7 deployment based on Microsoft Best Practices using HCL's tried and tested migration approach.

Commenting on this innovative solution, Maninder Singh, head of end user computing services, HCL Technologies' Infrastructure Services Division (HCLT ISD) said, "Our XpressMigrate suite offers compelling benefits to enterprises like centralized deployment of Desktop OS & Applications, automated process with minimum manual intervention, high visibility, reporting, and simplified image management. This reiterates our commitment to providing innovative solutions around Microsoft platforms to enterprises."

HCL manages more than one million desktops for enterprises globally and boasts of a large talent pool with dedicated end-user computing experience. It houses state-of-the art CoE on Microsoft technologies in its Noida premises and has more than a decade of experience in delivering cutting-edge solutions on Microsoft platforms.
