"I am the blues..." words often proclaimed by Chicago Bluesman Willie Dixon. The world is incontestably a richer place because of Willie Dixon's musical contributions alone. Many of the greatest rock bands of the '60s, '70s and '80s including The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Cream, Yardbirds, Grateful Dead, Eric Clapton, and the list goes on... have been touched by his music. Believing that his work was not yet finished, Dixon had devoted much of his time to the organization he founded, Blues Heaven Foundation. His vision was to allow the echoes of great American Blues to continue to develop, to encourage a new generation of blues greats and to provide for the ongoing welfare of senior Blues musicians.

Blues Heaven Foundation's mission is to help artists and musicians obtain what is rightfully theirs, and to educate both adults and children on the history of the Blues and the business of music. To achieve this mission, the foundation has successfully executed several programs, including The Muddy Water's Scholarship, Music Clinics, Music in the Garden/Record Row Festival, Emergency Assistance, and is looking to establish additional programs in the near future. The museum itself attracts visitors from all over the world! In order to help maintain the existence of Blues Heaven Foundation, and to realize the dream of its founder, Willie Dixon, support is imperative!
