Hakuto Co., Ltd. Named Exclusive Distributor for NanoInk in Japan, Singapore and Malaysia

SKOKIE, IL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- September 27, 2006 -- NanoInk, Inc. announced today that it has reached an agreement with Hakuto Co., Ltd., of Tokyo, Japan, in which Hakuto will be the exclusive distributor for NanoInk's NSCRIPTOR™ Dip Pen Nanolithography® (DPN®) System in Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.

NanoInk's NSCRIPTOR DPN System is a fully integrated hardware and software system optimized for the DPN process of writing stable nanoscale patterns of molecular "ink" onto a sample substrate via a coated stylus tip. DPN users can build at resolutions ranging from many micrometers down to 15 nanometers, using virtually any material. This combination of ultrahigh resolution and material flexibility makes for numerous commercial applications.

"Hakuto imports and distributes electronics products through partnerships with over 200 high-tech suppliers worldwide," said Tom Levesque, Senior Director of DPN Global Sales. "We believe their established network and strong market presence will accelerate the adoption of our DPN technology in research laboratories and manufacturing environments in Japan and other Asian countries."

"Since its founding in 1953, Hakuto Co. has supported the capability of new technologies to energize and enrich our lives," said Tsuyoshi Tanaka, Sales Manager for Hakuto. "NanoInk's DPN technology has great potential to enable Japanese companies and others in the region to join international institutions and researchers to make significant contributions to the life sciences and semiconductor industries."

Several leading research institutions such as Northwestern University, Stanford University and University of California at Santa Barbara are currently using NanoInk's DPN technology to create nanoscale structures.
