Hampton: You Have the Power To Make a Positive Choice by Voting NDP

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 8, 2007) - NDP Leader Howard Hampton embarked on a final push to tell voters that they have the power to make a positive choice on Wednesday - they can say no to four more years of Dalton McGuinty's broken promises by voting NDP.

"Dalton McGuinty wants to pretend this election is over - he's wrong. It's not over. This election belongs to the voters of Ontario, not him," said Hampton. "The result of this campaign isn't inevitable. While Dalton McGuinty wants to retreat even further into his bubble, we still have two days to deliver our positive message to voters and I am going to use every minute to talk to as many working families as I can."

Hampton is driving from Scarborough to Ottawa today, making stops in Oshawa, Belleville and Kingston along the way. Tomorrow he will visit the four ridings the NDP took in recent by-elections in Hamilton and Toronto before hitting more stops in Northern Ontario as he makes his way to Fort Frances where he will spend election day.

Hampton and his team of NDP candidates across the province have run a positive campaign, speaking about the issues that working families care about and put forward a clear, achievable alternative: a fair deal for working families with six practical, doable commitments.

"We've taken so-called safe Liberal seats, and on Wednesday we'll do it again. I'm feeling energy and momentum from one end of the province to the other," said Hampton.

"Working families don't want to give Dalton McGuinty a license to let them down again. On Wednesday, they can make a positive choice and vote for someone they can count on to put them first and give them a fair deal."
