Hana Mining Announces Drilling on Ghanzi Copper Project in Northwestern Botswana

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Sept. 27, 2007) - Hana Mining Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:HMG) is pleased to announce that drilling is underway on its Ghanzi Copper Project in northwestern Botswana. The program is proposed to include 10,000 meters of diamond drilling and will initially focus on twinning RC and diamond drill holes in the highly prospective H-I grid area of the property. The program will test both high-grade and lower-grade mineralized intercepts.

"Progressing to the drill phase at Ghanzi is an important milestone and an exciting step forward," said Joe Arengi M.Sc. P.Geo, VP Exploration of Hana Mining. "Positive results would add a great deal of excitement to Hana's overall exploration program at Ghanzi, underscoring the strong potential of at least three additional areas of the property where successful historical drilling was carried out. We look forward to actively pursuing work on the property in the coming weeks and months as we continue to outline the nature and extent of copper mineralization."

The H-I grid area was the focus of much of the historical exploration completed at the Ghanzi property previously drilled by Delta Gold in joint venture with BHP Billiton in 1999 and Anglo American Corp. in the early 1990s., the results of which are as follows:

All drill intercepts are within 90% or more of true width.

The current drill program will expand and infill coverage of the H-I grid, and will also continue to test strike and dip continuity at several promising outlying targets. Previous drill testing of these outlying targets intersected copper mineralization in widely spaced holes along an 80 kilometer strike length.

The work program is scheduled to include the twinning of eight holes at the H-I grid, soil sampling, ground geophysics and percussion drilling. Drilling is being carried out by Major Drilling Ltd. of Botswana. The program is based on recommendations made in a NI 43-101-compliant report prepared by RSG Global and accepted for filing by the TSX on September 18, 2007.

Joseph Arengi, M.Sc., P.Geo., Vice-President of Exploration for Hana Mining and a Qualified Person (QP) as defined in National Instrument 43-101, is responsible for the current exploration program in Botswana. Although the historic data has not been verified, Hana believes this data is relevant and reliable. The program to twin several holes is designed to verify these results.

Hana Mining recently concluded a non-brokered private placement for gross proceeds of $2,880,700. These proceeds will be used to advance the Company's exploration programs at Ghanzi.
