Hanfeng to Host the 3rd International Slow-Release Fertilizer Industry Development Forum

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 2, 2010) - Hanfeng Evergreen Inc. ("Hanfeng" or the "Company") (TSX:HF), a leading producer of slow and controlled release fertilizers in China, is pleased to announce that it will jointly host the "3rd International Slow-Release Fertilizer Industry Development Forum" with the China National Chemical Information Center (CNCIC) on April 22-24, 2010 in Beijing. The forum, which has received strong support from National Agro-Tech Extension and Service Centre (NATESC), a division of the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA), will focus on enhancing international cooperation, accelerating slow release fertilizer industry development; reducing non-point source pollution, and other related topics. It is expected to be attended by more than 300 guests from related governmental authorities, well-known Chinese and international experts and scholars, as well as representatives from major slow release fertilizer producers and distributors.

"China is one of the largest grain producers and consumer worldwide, and food safety is a primary focus of the Chinese government," stated Mr. Gao Xiangzhao, Director of the Soil & Fertilizer Technology Division of the MOA. In the "11th Five Year Plan", China has emphasized the importance of promoting more modern farming practices to enhance yield, and reduce pollution and energy consumption. Slow and controlled release fertilizers will play a critical role in this movement. Hanfeng, as the recognized leader in slow and controlled release fertilizers in China, is our preferred partner for this important forum."

"We are very honored to continue our work with the CNCIC and NATESC as a host for the Forum. As a producer and developer of value-add fertilizers, we spend a significant amount of time in the field performing soil-tests and product trials, both independently and in cooperation with agencies like NATESC. The field trials prove that the high efficient slow release fertilizers can control underground water pollution and non-point pollution, reduce energy consumption, protect the environment, enhance carbon solidification ability of the soil, and help reduce greenhouse gas emissions," stated Xinduo Yu, President and CEO of Hanfeng. "Our extensive experience in working with the China government in the field, as well as in setting standards for slow release fertilizers like sulfur coated urea and urea formaldehyde, afford us a unique position in the industry."
