CALGARY, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 6, 2005) - Broadview Press Inc.
(TSX VENTURE:BDP):

As previously announced, the new year brings new leadership to Broadview
Press

Broadview Press Inc. (TSX-V: BDP) is pleased to announce that, as of
January 1, 2005, Michael Harrison has succeeded Don LePan as President
and CEO of the company. Harrison had been Broadview's Vice-President
since 1992, and prior to that served as McClelland and Stewart's College
Editor. He is also a former President of the Association of Canadian
Publishers.

Ian Rhind, Chair of Broadview's Board of Directors, expressed his
pleasure with the choice of Harrison as Broadview's new President and
commented that "Harrison has participated with LePan in building
Broadview from the early days and he knows the business inside out."

Plans for the January 1, 2005 succession were made public on August 17,
2004.

LePan founded Broadview Press in 1985 and had been President and CEO
since that time. Although he is stepping down as an officer of
Broadview, he will remain a member of Broadview's Board of Directors,
and will also serve as Director, Special Projects - a capacity that will
allow him to oversee development of The Broadview Anthology of British
Literature, which is due for publication in 2006.

Broadview Press is an internationally-oriented, Canadian-based publisher
of books aimed at the university and college textbook market.
