Hartco Income Fund to Explore Strategic Options for CompuSmart

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 8, 2007) - (TSX:HCI.UN) Hartco Income Fund (the "Fund") today announced that it has initiated the process of exploring strategic options for CompuSmart, with emphasis on a potential sale of all or a portion of the retail division.

"As part of our ongoing strategic review, the board of trustees has determined that the divestiture of the CompuSmart retail division is in the best interest of the Fund to improve its financial performance," said President and Chief Operating Officer Patrick Waid. "The goal of any potential sale of all or part of CompuSmart would be to position it within an organization with the resources to allow it to realize its full potential, while enabling the Fund to sharpen its strategic focus on the commercial segment."

There can be no assurance that the decision to explore strategic options for CompuSmart will result in any transaction.
