Healia Selected as a 2007 Tibbetts Award Winner

Prestigious Award Recognizes Technology Innovation and Impact on People

BELLEVUE, WA--(Marketwire - October 10, 2007) - Healia (www.healia.com), creator of an award winning health search engine, has been selected as one of the winners of the 2007 Tibbetts Awards. Dr. Tom Eng, President & Founder of Healia, accepted the award today at the Westin Washington in Washington, D.C.

Named for Roland Tibbetts -- the person acknowledged as the father of the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program -- the prestigious, national Tibbetts Awards are made annually to small firms, projects, organizations, and individuals judged to exemplify the very best in SBIR achievement.

Healia is one of 55 companies in the U.S. to receive the Tibbetts Award and was selected from more than 4,000 companies that receive contract and grants under the SBIR Program each year. Criteria for the Tibbetts Award include novelty of the technology; commercial achievement and potential; economic impact; and the impact of the technology on humanity, the nation, and industry.

The SBIR funding received by Healia from the National Cancer Institute was a critical success factor in Healia's initial R&D efforts. "Early on, the SBIR Program and the National Cancer Institute shared our vision that a health-optimized search engine providing high-quality and personalized results would be immensely beneficial to consumers," said Dr. Eng. "Healia continues to carry forward this shared vision of making health information more accessible and relevant to consumers."
