Heineken USA Selects Coyote Logistics to Manage Nationwide Freight Forwarding Activities

Continues Commitment to Maximize Supply Chain Activities

WHITE PLAINS, NY--(Marketwire - February 3, 2010) - Heineken USA today announced the selection of Coyote Logistics as its national freight forwarder. Under this new agreement, Coyote will manage the outbound transportation of the company's Dutch brand portfolio from Heineken USA's Demand Point centers.

The selection was based on a strategic review of the company's supply chain activities to help deliver against corporate growth goals.

Today's announcement applies only to freight forwarding activities for the company's Dutch brand portfolio. Heineken USA will continue to work with Satellite Logistics Group, ASA Apple and Maersk to coordinate the portfolio's drayage and warehousing operations at its Demand Point locations.

Heineken USA currently relies on six Demand Point facilities to support its distributor network across the country. This supply chain footprint positions the company to streamline operations and build flexibility to accommodate future growth.

Through the company's continued supply chain evolution, Heineken USA has been able to reduce costs and provide an enhanced service model to its network of distributors. While importing product from breweries 3,000 miles away, Heineken USA has decreased order lead time from brewery to store shelf from 10 weeks in 1996 to 7 days presently.
