Helios HR Opens Nominations for 4th Annual Apollo Awards

Premier Washington, D.C. Awards Recognize Forward-Thinking Employers for Innovative and Effective Employee Development Programs

RESTON, VA--(Marketwire - January 19, 2010) - Helios HR, a provider of outsourced human resources (HR) services that optimize workforce and HR operations, today announced the Call for Nominations for the 2010 Helios HR Apollo Awards. The Apollo Awards program is the premier awards program for recognizing employers in the Washington metropolitan region that invest in employee development initiatives.

"Employers are increasingly embracing employee development programs as a key driver of employee retention, revenue generation and competitive advantage, and we have seen a dramatic year-over-year rise in the both the number and quality of Apollo Awards nominations," said Kathy Albarado, president and CEO, Helios HR. "We encourage companies to come forward to share best practices and garner much-deserved recognition for stand-out employee development programs."

Inspired by years of witnessing the efforts of D.C.-area businesses to promote professional development and employee growth, the Apollo Awards celebrate innovative and passionate leaders that collaborate with employees to make employee development not just a priority, but an essential component of their culture.

To date, the Apollo Awards have been identified within four categories based on organization size: emerging, small, mid-size and large. Nominees will be evaluated by an independent panel of recognized workforce development and HR authorities, based on their support of employee development initiatives and ability to communicate the overall impact of these programs.

Finalists will be recognized in SmartCEO magazine and honored at a VIP reception. In addition to the recognition for the finalists, the Apollo Awards provide a forum for sharing best practices in employee development. Helios HR will announce the winners at the Apollo Awards breakfast ceremony on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at the Fairview Park Marriot in Falls Church, Va.
