Help Keep AAA Texas' Roads Safe During Christmas - New Year Holiday -- Don't Drink & Drive

Free Anti-Drinking & Driving Statewide Service

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - December 22, 2007) - AAA Texas is offering its free Tipsy Tow service to the public during the Christmas - New Year period. The service begins 6 PM Monday, December 24, and wraps up Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at 11:59 PM.

AAA Texas Tipsy Tow program, now in its 21st year, is designed to provide drivers with a way to get home safely if they have been drinking. The first ten miles are free.

Here is how it works:

-- Drivers, holiday hosts and bartenders dial AAA Texas' toll free number
    at 1-800-AAA-HELP or 1-800-222-4357 to request the Tipsy Tow service;

--  AAA Texas dispatches a tow truck and;

-- The driver is driven -- and the vehicle towed -- home for free up to
    10 miles.

Callers should keep in mind that the destination is limited to the driver's residence. Reservations are not accepted. Drivers can expect to pay the rate charged by the tow truck contractor for rides farther than ten miles.

"Texas generally leads the nation in the number of people killed as a result of drinking and driving," said AAA Texas spokesperson Rose Rougeau. "To help keep our roadways safe, we recommend motorists have a designated driver. If that is not possible, we suggest motorists use our Tipsy Tow service."

Tipsy Tow is a public service offered by AAA Texas throughout the state of Texas.
