High Ridge Announces Surface Access Agreements With Communities in the San Mateo Area, Peru

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 10, 2007) - High Ridge Resources Inc. ("High Ridge") (TSX VENTURE:HRR) is pleased to announce that its subsidiary Minera High Ridge S.A.C., has recently signed agreements with Communidad Campesina de San Jose de Parac (Community of Parac) and Comunidad Campesina de Checa (Community of Checa) in the San Mateo area, Province of Huarochiri, Department of Lima.

The agreement with the Community of Parac (see the below map) gives High Ridge unrestricted access to the land which includes the past-producing mines Pacococha, Germania, Silveria, and Millotingo located in District of San Mateo. This land covers the surface of High Ridge's mineral titles in the area, including the major portion of the Rosicler-El Domo project, as well as other neighbouring mineral properties. The agreement is valid for the next twelve years. High Ridge has agreed to carry out environmentally responsible exploration, including drilling, on the High Ridge mineral concessions and will give preference to the community when hiring for the field staff.

The Community of Parac's property is bordered to the west by land owned by the Community of Viso and to the east with land owned by the Community of San Antonio, whereas to the south by the Community of Checa which is located in the District of San Damian (see the below map).

The agreement with the Community of Checa grants High Ridge access to the land which includes the Chanape Project and the nearby High Ridge wholly owned concessions. This agreement also endorses unrestricted, environmentally responsible exploration on the High Ridge mineral concessions. The term of the agreement is for five years and it gives preference to the Checa community when hiring for the field personnel; it will be renegotiated as the Chanape project advances beyond the exploration phase.

Gary Anderson, High Ridge president, stated that: "Our challenge was identification of the actual owner of the land and surface rights. Respect and cooperation with all the communities is the key ingredient to the development of our projects. High Ridge is fully committed to improving the economic conditions of the communities in the region, which in turn will benefit all of our shareholders and partners."

Negotiations with other communities are in progress. As well, several other developments concerning the above referenced projects in the San Mateo area are nearing satisfactory resolution and High Ridge will announce details as information becomes available.
