High Ridge Started 3D Induced Polarization Survey and Concluded Underground Sampling on the Chanape Property in the San Mateo Area, Peru

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Jan. 8, 2008) - High Ridge Resources Inc. ("High Ridge") (TSX VENTURE:HRR) today announced that it has begun 3D Induced Polarization and surface magnetic surveys, and it has concluded the field portion of the work for a NI 43-101 technical report on High Ridge's Chanape property near San Mateo, 100 kilometers east of Lima, Peru.

High Ridge has contracted a Peruvian company, Jose Arce Geofisicos S.R.L., to perform the geophysical surveys. After Chanape, geophysical surveys will be performed on the Rosicler-El Domo prospect, a large, contiguous group of concessions, which include the three kilometres long, largely exposed mineralized quartz vein system named Rosicler, and associated, strongly altered and characterized by a pronounced stockwork type mineralization volcanic dome (El Domo). Both geophysical surveys, combined with the existing and newly obtained geological information will delineate the drilling targets.

The company has contracted an independent consultant to prepare a NI 43-101 compliant report on Chanape. Related sampling was concluded on December 31, 2007. A total of 261 rock samples (channel samples) were collected from the existing drifts/adits, as well as from the surface. The report on the Chanape project is expected to be completed in the following weeks.

Additional surface mapping and detailed mineralized breccia sampling by High Ridge geologists will continue on an ongoing basis. Previous exploration reports (not NI 43-101 compliant) have identified at least thirty gold mineralized breccia pipes, which have been mapped and documented, with a total surface of more than 62,000 m2. (Ly et al., 1997) and estimated vertical dimensions of not less than 350 m.

Other Activities

The other activities in Peru include major improvements to the buildings and living conditions in the former Pacococha mine camp. The camp has been leased from Sindicato Minero Pacococha S.A. and has been the centre of the High Ridge's field operations in the San Mateo area since December 09, 2007.

These properties include the Chuchi property (Cu-Au porphyry), 30 km northwest of Terrane's Mt. Milligan project; Newton Mountain (Au-Cu porphyry), 35 km north of Taseko Mine's Prosperity project - formerly Fish Lake (Au-Cu porphyry); and the Silver Bay (Ag, Pb, Zn, and Cu porphyry) project, 10 km south of Cominco's former Bluebell mine.
