Holiday Entertaining: Festive Cocktails for Merry Drinking

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - November 7, 2007) - December is just around the corner bringing with it seasonal cheer, snowy days and mistletoe dreams. During the holidays, add some festive spirits to your drinks. Do away with the egg nog and treat guests with new recipes that reflect the spirit of the season.

Add a twist to a traditional Irish whiskey with a Merry Irishman or turn champagne into a festive, sparkling shade of green by adding a touch of Midori. For dessert, wind down by the fire with a warm ZEN toddy and chocolate cake.

Easy to make and festive in color and taste, below are some of the latest cocktail trends and tastes this holiday season:


Irish Kiss

-- 2 parts Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey

-- 1/2 part of Irish Mist

-- 1 part Heavy Cream/Ice Cream

-- Chocolate Syrup

Shake with ice and serve in a chilled Martini glass and garnish with shaved chocolate.



Martin Miller's Sugar & Spice Martini

-- 2 oz. Martin Miller's

-- 2 oz. Apple Cider

-- 3/4 oz. Fresh Orange juice

-- Splash of Brown Sugar Simple Syrup

Shake with ice. Serve in Martini glass that has been rimmed with a mixture of cinnamon, superfine sugar.



Midori's Holiday Punch

-- 1 part SKYY Vodka

-- 1 part Champagne

-- 1 part Midori

-- 2 parts Pineapple juice

-- 1 part Soda water

Prepare in a punch bowl or any bowl 5lt+, pour over ice.



Merry Irishman

-- 2 parts Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey

-- 1 part Coffee Liqueur

-- 1/2 part Mint Schnapps

Serve over ice in a Rocks glass and garnish with a candy cane.



Martin Miller's Mistletoe Martini

-- 2 oz. Martin Miller's Gin

-- 1/2 oz. Campari

-- 1 oz. Ruby Grapefruit juice

-- 1/2 oz. Maple syrup

-- 3 basil leaves

-- Dash egg white (optional)

Add all ingredients to an ice filled shaker and shake. Double strain into a chilled martini glass.



Midori Sparkle

-- 1/2 oz. Midori

-- Topped with Champagne Brut

Pour Midori into champagne flute and top with champagne.



ZEN Toddy

-- 8 oz. hot water

-- 1 oz. ZEN Green Tea Liqueur

Stir well and squeeze in a slice of lemon for added zest.
