Hollywood Postproduction Veteran to Join Hollywood Intermediate as Senior Vice President, Sales

Hollywood Intermediate Announced Today That Former Magic Film & Video Works Vice President, Ruben Garcia, Has Joined Its Matchframe Digital Intermediate Division

GLENDALE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- January 20, 2006 -- Hollywood Intermediate, Inc. (OTC: HYWI) President David Waters announced today that Ruben Garcia has joined its Matchframe Digital Intermediate (MDI) team as Senior Vice President, Sales. This position was recently created to support extensive growth at MDI. Garcia will be responsible for overseeing sales of independent and studio digital intermediate services and expanding the company's client base as the company increases its production capacity to meet the overwhelming growth of the industry.

Garcia has a distinguished and extensive background in motion picture negative services, having held a senior management position for the past 16 years with Magic Film and Video Works, the word's largest independent motion picture negative conforming facility. Garcia was instrumental in the development of advances in motion picture negative conforming including the use of edge code numbers on the film's negative, and the "lokbox," a device enabling video to film synchronization utilizing a computer screen and a film sync block locking keycode with a foot and frame counter. Garcia's sales initiatives grew Magic's negative conforming, restoration and telecine business over a sixteen-year period to in excess of 200 films per year.

"Ruben Garcia is clearly one of the most respected professionals in the film negative conform and restoration business. His background in film finishing, including an in-depth knowledge of digital intermediate technology as well as sales and operations, will be a critical asset to our customers for the creation of innovative and value-conscious technology solutions," said Hollywood Intermediate President David Waters. "The addition of Ruben to our team is another significant step in our company's evolution, and we are delighted to have him with us."

In recent years, Garcia helped supervise Magic's work on such studio productions as "Lord Of The Rings," "The New World," and "Panic Room," independent pictures including "Napoleon Dynamite," "Hustle & Flow," and "God and Monsters," television productions including "ER," "The West Wing," and "Third Watch," and archival High Definition restoration for the television series "Spin City" and "Heat of the Night." Garcia was an early proponent of digital intermediate technology both for motion picture mastering and archival restoration.

Garcia assisted the early development of Hollywood Intermediate's technology while at Magic, witnessing the growing need to move film and television restoration processes from analog, to digital given the new age of high definition television, and digital television government mandates.

"Hollywood Intermediate's depth of talent, workflow efficiencies, exceptional quality and competitive pricing in the area of digital intermediate technology, are unparalleled in the industry," said Garcia. "Especially when coupled with the immense growth and popularity of digital intermediate technology, I believe that Hollywood Intermediate is clearly positioned to be a leader in end-to-end digital intermediate solutions. This is an exhilarating time to be part of this industry."
