Cadbury is offering Canadians the chance to give and to receive. The One For Me, One For You(i) promotion, which begins today, rewards winning Canadians, while simultaneously offering them the opportunity to give generously to charity. It begins with small every day purchases like chocolate, gum and candy.

"We know that Canadians are passionate about giving, but unfortunately, many charities around the world are feeling the pinch this year, so we've created a promotion focused on giving and we're introducing an element of receiving, too," says Luisa Girotto, Vice President Corporate Affairs, Cadbury North America. "The One For Me, One For You promotion is simple. It's entirely about joy and it empowers Canadians to put their mark on charitable giving while knowing there's something in it for them, too."

One For Me, One For You celebrates both giving and receiving by asking Canadians to choose to enter through the "ME" (receiving) side or the "YOU" (giving) side. By visiting either or, Canadians have the chance to win $100,000 and to give $100,000 and also go for the chance to win and give an instant prize. Participation in the promotion is granted with the entry of a UPC code of any participating Cadbury confectionery product. The entire experience is designed with the spirit of both giving and receiving and for every prize awarded a donation is given, all the way to the grand prize.

One lucky Canadian will win $100,000 for them and be granted the opportunity to select+ one charity to receive $100,000. The charities hoping to receive the major donation include: The David Suzuki Foundation, The Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research, The Canadian Cancer Society, The United Way of Canada, The Humane Society of Canada, The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Canada, World Vision Canada, Operation Enfant Soleil, CARE Canada, Tree Canada and UNICEF.

Over 200 instant prizes are available to be won and are shown through fun, creative graphics that, when scrolled over, describe what's in it for "ME" and what's in it for "YOU". For each instant prize won, Cadbury will make an equal donation to one of a select group of global and local charities. For example, for every book store gift card awarded, a donation will be made to World Literacy of Canada, to help promote literacy and education for children and adults. There are over 200 instant prizes available to be won and the participating charities include: World Literacy of Canada, The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Canada, Goodwill Industries of Toronto, MusiCounts, One Laptop Per Child, The Humane Society of Canada and Tree Canada. There is an opportunity to learn more about the charity by visiting an available, direct link to every charity's website.

Participating Cadbury brands include chocolate favourites such as Caramilk(i) and Dairy Milk(i); leading gum brands like Trident(i), Dentyne(i) and Stride(i); Maynards(i) candy including Maynards Wine Gums(i), Sour Patch Kids(i) and Cherry Blasters(i); and all HALLS(i) products. The promotion begins August 17, 2009 and ends on November 8, 2009.

A History of Giving

The One For Me, One For You(i) promotion follows on the heels of the successful launch of Cadbury's The Bicycle Factory(i) program, the first total company promotion executed in 2009. As a result of the success of The Bicycle Factory(i) program, Cadbury will deliver 5,000 bicycles to school children in Ghana, Africa, this fall. The promotion has also offered one lucky Canadian the consumer prize of accompanying the Cadbury team to help with the delivery of the bicycles in Ghana.
