CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - July 19, 2007) - Husky Energy (TSX:HSE) advises that on July 19, 2007 at 3:40 am (EST) the refinery lost electrical power to a portion of the plant due to a small fire in an electrical substation on the refinery site. There were no employee or contractor injuries resulting from this incident. With good preventative measures and a quick response by refinery personnel, the fire was limited to the substation. Upon initial observation, there appears to be no other damage to the refinery.
The refinery is currently operating at approximately 25 percent of capacity, and Husky has put in place insurance for the facility. Personnel are in the process of assessing damage to the electrical substation and determining when the refinery will return to normal production.
