Hydro Ottawa Celebrates First Year Anniversary of "Companies for Conservation" Recognition Program

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 27, 2008) - One year and 12 awards later, Hydro Ottawa's Companies for Conservation initiative continues to shine the spotlight on business leaders in our community. In the fall of 2007, Hydro Ottawa launched the monthly award to recognize outstanding commitment to electricity conservation and demand management.

"When we began issuing the Companies for Conservation award, our goal was to help integrate conservation and demand management into the corporate culture of Ottawa's business community," said Bruce Bibby, Manager, Conservation and Demand Management at Hydro Ottawa Limited. "The initiatives, investments, leadership and innovation we've discovered over the past year are proof that Ottawa's business community is headed in the right direction."

The first year's Companies for Conservation honourees, listed below, have achieved more than just electricity savings. Several award recipients have also answered the call to reduce electricity consumption during peak demand periods.
