Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Industry Association Gets a New Name

Fuel Cells Canada Announces Name Change to Hydrogen & Fuel Cells Canada Attention: Assignment Editor, Business/Financial Editor, Environment Editor, Energy Editor, Tech/Telecomm Editor VANCOUVER, BC--(CCNMatthews - May 16, 2006) - Vancouver, BC - Fuel Cells Canada, the national industry association for Canada's hydrogen and fuel cell sector, today announced that is has changed its name to Hydrogen & Fuel Cells Canada.

The new name more accurately reflects the interests of the association's membership. Founded in 2000, the association is internationally recognized as the collective voice for Canada's hydrogen and fuel cell industry. Its members are developing and commercializing hydrogen and fuel cell technologies, components, systems supply and integration, fuelling systems, fuel storage, as well as engineering, business and financial services required by the sector.

"Hydrogen & Fuel Cells Canada provides a collective face for a broad range of stakeholders involved in the Canadian hydrogen and fuel cell sector," said John W. Tak, President & CEO of Hydrogen & Fuel Cells Canada. "Together we are developing Made-In-Canada technology solutions that make energy use cleaner, more reliable, more diversified and more secure."

Fuel cells utilize a variety of fuels including hydrogen, natural gas, formic acid and methanol to provide safe, clean and reliable power generation. Hydrogen can also be used in modified internal combustion engines. As a collection of sustainable energy solutions, hydrogen and fuel cell technologies and products provide numerous environmental, economic and societal benefits.

Hydrogen & Fuel Cells Canada's mission remains focused on accelerating the development and commercialization of Canada's world-leading hydrogen and fuel cell industry.
