IA06 To Start Debate On IA Strategy

LONDON, ENGLAND--(CCNMatthews - May 16, 2006) - IA06 - the premier Information Assurance event in Brighton - will lead the debate on IA strategy within Government, it was confirmed today.

The event has already signed up a large number of senior speakers including Ian Watmore, head of the Prime Minister's Delivery Unit.

Event organisers have confirmed that workshops will be fed directly into the Cabinet Office review of the Government Information Assurance Strategy.

The event has been created by CESG working with the Central Sponsor for Information Assurance and the National Infrastructure Security Co-ordination Centre to deliver the authoritative government event on Information Assurance.

The event's programme has been built around the Transformational Government White Paper unveiled last year.

CESG's Head of Customer Services, Craig Pollard commented: "We have a very impressive list of speakers and delegates from Government and the private sector and feel IA06 will be a significant milestone in shaping the next version of the National IA Strategy.

"Speakers including Ian Watmore will be leading this process and we have the commitment from his unit and the Cabinet Office to lead the debate.

"Attendees will get the chance to participate in a number of workshops which will be fed directly back to Government."

IA06 will encourage delegates to share their expertise and experience at a number of workshops to examine the implications of major issues, including the management of information risks, business continuity, and building professionalism, in order to generate options that can be taken forward.
