IBM Signs Services Deals in Australia

ARMONK, NY--(Marketwire - January 23, 2008) - IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced new services agreements in Australia.

In 2007, IBM Australia grew three times faster than the local market and saw strong double digit revenue growth. Today's announcements indicate that IBM's strategic focus on delivering technology and services to growth markets is gaining momentum.

Today's announcements by IBM in Australia include:

--  National Australia Bank (NAB) - National Australia Bank, one of the
    largest financial institutions and banks in Australia, signed a multi-
    million, three-year outsourcing agreement with IBM to take over management
    of NAB's desktop and service desk IT infrastructure, help desk and desktop
    support for 28,000 users at the majority of NAB sites within Australia.
    IBM's support will also underpin NAB's new desktop architecture, known as
    the Australian Regional Desktop Technology Platform (ARDTP). IBM's service
    model is tailored to this new architecture, which provides significant
    gains to NAB in terms of cost efficiency.
--  Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) - Following a comprehensive
    review of its technology service delivery and management model, CBA has
    selected IBM to join its multi-vendor application services panel for the
    delivery of application and management services. CBA is one of Australia's
    leading providers of integrated financial services.
--  Queensland State Government of Australia - The Queensland State
    Government has awarded IBM a contract to help implement business solutions
    over the next four years as part of its Shared Service Initiative. The
    Shared Service Initiative is aimed at reducing duplication by developing
    common business processes, consolidating systems and rolling out more
    efficient finance and human resource systems that support the operations of
    Government departments. It includes a finance suite (based on SAP), and a
    human resources suite. IBM consultants will deliver a range of services
    including application development and testing, training and change

All of these agreements were signed in the fourth quarter of 2007.
