IPL Innovates With Heated Skate Blades

SAINT-DAMIEN, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Oct. 2, 2007) - IPL Inc. (TSX:IPI.A), one of North America's leading manufacturers of plastic products, is pleased to announce that it has recently signed a manufacturing contract with Canadian firm Therma Blade Inc. Based on the agreement, IPL will produce components to be used in the manufacturing of heated hockey-skate blades.

This major three-year contract is worth over $10 million for IPL and requires the Company to invest $1.3 million. The promoters plan to launch the product officially on October 16th at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto, supported by Wayne Gretzky and the IPL team.

Production will take place at the Saint-Damien plant and will begin after the official launch in mid-October. The work unit will operate around the clock, seven days a week. A skating-rink shaped production and assembly area will be outfitted in the plant and used exclusively to this project for the next three years.
