ITS to Resell PrinterOn Campus Printing System

BIRMINGHAM, UNITED KINGDOM and KITCHENER, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - April
19, 2005) -

Agreement brings Wireless Notebook Printing to Libraries and Universities

PrinterOn Corporation has signed ITS (Info Technology Supply Ltd., UK)
as a reseller of its Campus Printing System for libraries and the
educational sector in Europe. PrinterOn's Campus Printing System
simplifies PC and wireless notebook printing for students and can reduce
the overall cost of print services.

ITS (www.itsltduk.com) provides solutions for the education, public and
corporate sectors for the access and management of information. The
company will demonstrate the PrinterOn Campus Printing System at the
Library + Information Show, April 20-21, The Pavilion, NEC, Birmingham,
Stand 608.

Notebook computers, mobility and wireless connectivity have made
printing more difficult. Notebook users cannot easily locate printers
and drivers and correctly configure their computers for authenticated
printing. Yet the need for mobile printing in libraries and educational
institutions continues to grow. The PrinterOn Campus Printing System
addresses this problem, and reduces or eliminates the need for I.T.
staff intervention with driverless and wireless printing. The service is
ideal for students with notebooks using either a network drop or an
802.11 wireless connection.

One innovative feature of the system is that students can print from
home or residence and pick up their printed documents in the library.
The system can provide optional authentication through standard
technologies already deployed on campus such as LDAP, Active Directory
or Single Sign-On. PrinterOn integrates with print management systems
widely used in public libraries and educational environments (such as
Pharos UniPrint) to ensure seamless operation with existing campus cost
recovery solutions whether using accounts, card systems or coin vending
machines.

Pepperdine Law School in the UK has already implemented the PrinterOn
Campus Printing System, as has the library at The University of Western
Ontario, Canada. "The PrinterOn system allows for future proofing- the
system reconfigures itself if we change printers or rules for use, with
no need to alter student software," commented Bob Caron, Library
Information Technology Services, University of Western Ontario.
