ITVS International to Host a Special Media-Only Event at the National Press Club Launching the "Global Perspectives Project"

Informal Presentation and Conversations With Key Stakeholders in Ground-Breaking Two-Way Exchange Global Media Initiative

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - September 27, 2007) - On Monday afternoon, October 1st, ITVS International will host a unique, media-only event at the National Press Club previewing the organization's newest international initiative. The Global Perspectives Project is a two-way pipeline bringing international documentary films to U.S. audiences and an outgoing series of U.S. documentaries to audiences around the world. In lieu of a press conference format, the event will be conducted as an informal media reception. The event will feature a brief presentation, followed by the opportunity for small group discussions or one-on-one interviews and conversations with the key stakeholders involved with the project.

WHY:      An exclusive preview of this global initiative which creates a
          new way for citizens of the world to engage in direct public
          diplomacy. ITVS International has funded 54 programs representing
          41 different countries. Beginning in October 2007 and continuing
          throughout the next year, nearly 40 programs will premiere to
          audiences across the United States. The project aims to support
          and broadcast an additional 50 programs by international
          producers through 2010. Out-going "True Stories: Life in the
          USA" series planned for total of 35-40 countries by 2010 if
