Iceland Express Invites Passengers to Send Socks

Icelandic Budget Airline Iceland Express Is Showing Its Playful Side by Not Only Offering Cheap Flights, but Also Movies Starring Talking Socks

LONDON--(Marketwire - April 23, 2008) - Visitors to the Iceland Express website have always been able to book cheap flights to Reykjavik, but recent developments mean they can now also create their own movies to send to friends -- provided they don't mind that the movie stars are socks.

The airline describes the project as "joyfully silly," but it also serves the important task of attracting public attention during this, Iceland Express' fifth year of flying. While making movies, website visitors are treated to the sights and sounds of Icelandic nature -- Iceland's best advertisement.

In order to make a little piece of cinematic history, it helps to speak some Sock -- as wannabe directors have to write subtitles to help their friends understand what the socks are saying. Sock language sounds very peculiar to the untrained ear.

Failing that, directors are welcome to write whatever they like. The socks don't mind and nobody will ever find out, unless their friends turn out to be secret sockophones of course.

Iceland Express operates low-cost flights to Iceland from the following destinations in Europe: Barcelona, Alicante, Berlin, London, Paris, Eindhoven, Frankfurt, Basel, Billund, Friedrichshafen, Copenhagen, Gothenburg and Stockholm.

The airline recently began regular scheduled flights to Warsaw, making Iceland Express the first airline to fly direct between Iceland and Poland.

See Iceland Express' website for more information on flights to Iceland, or go direct to www.icelandsocks.com if flying is not the first priority. For more information on Iceland Express www.icelandexpress.com.
