ImageRights Adds PACA President to Executive Team

Content Licensing Veteran Maria Kessler to Lead Business Development for Early Stage Company Applying Visual Search Technology to Combat Image Piracy and Monitor Online Content

NEWTON, MA--(Marketwire - December 8, 2009) - ImageRights International, a cloud computing company providing image identification, monitoring, and recovery services for content owners, today announced the appointment of Maria Kessler to senior vice president of business development. Kessler will develop revenue opportunities for ImageRights through partnerships with photographer organizations, photo agencies, and other content publishers with large image libraries.

ImageRights is a cost efficient, easy-to-use service that seeks to protect image owners' intellectual property by crawling the Internet in search of websites that are using digital images. ImageRights then helps owners to recoup licensing fees from websites that are discovered to be using images without owner consent. ImageRights is designed for the worldwide community of image owners who are losing millions of dollars annually due to copyright infringement. Content owners also use the data for marketing analytics, leading to new business opportunities by providing valuable insight into which companies are using their images and why.

"Maria is a great fit for what we're doing and we're excited to have her on board," said Joe Naylor, president and CEO at ImageRights International. "Partnerships will be a key source of revenue for us, and no one in the industry is better suited to drive this initiative than Maria. Her background in content licensing, business development and copyright advocacy is exactly the combination we need."

Kessler began her professional career in licensing at the National Basketball Association where she worked on a number of licensed consumer products, and helped launch the website. Her image experience includes launching at FPG International, and then developing the content relationships and content offering for Dynamic Graphics, Inc. Most recently at Jupiterimages, Maria ran the worldwide content creation, acquisition and affiliation division. Kessler is the current president of the Picture Archive Council of America (PACA). She has also served as Secretary and Vice President on the PACA Executive Board.

"The decision to join ImageRights is a natural evolution of my career and a terrific opportunity for me to continue my passion for protecting the rights of content creators," said Kessler. "ImageRights is a fantastic service and the team has a proven track record of building successful web-based businesses. I've built a career in content licensing and copyright advocacy, and I look forward to working with content creators and publishers to safeguard and enhance the value of their proprietary images."

About ImageRights International

ImageRights International is a cloud computing company supporting copyright protection and license recovery. Image owners' very livelihoods are being tested by two fundamental problems: rapidly declining revenues resulting from downward pricing pressures on stock photography, and the ease with which copyrighted content can be copied, literally with the click of a mouse, and then reused online without authorization. ImageRights is applying visual search and image recognition technology to discover the use of images and illustrations across the Internet, enabling the rights holders to discover and then take appropriate action on the unlicensed use of their works.
