Incuity Software Wins Inaugural Harvey Mudd Green Engineering Award at 15th Annual AeA High-Tech Innovation Awards Banquet

IRVINE, CA--(Marketwire - May 1, 2008) - Incuity Software, Inc., a leading developer of real-time business intelligence (BI) software for manufacturing enterprises, was honored as the recipient of the inaugural Harvey Mudd College Green Engineering Award at the 15th annual AeA High-Tech Innovation Awards celebration, held Tuesday evening at the Hyatt Regency in Irvine.

The finalists for this award were judged based on their significant contributions in the area of "green" engineering or sustainability in one of three areas:

-- Design and production of a specific new device, system or technology
    that conserves energy or natural resources, reduces the production and
    emission of pollutants, or reduces the organization's carbon footprint
    significantly below current levels;
-- Adoption and implementation of new and innovative production
    technologies for current products that significantly improve the
    environment; or
-- Support for community-based initiatives to address environmental
    issues related to the design, production and use of electrical and
    electronic technologies.

Incuity Software was honored for its IncuityCEM Campus Energy Management solution, which enables campus facilities managers to adopt a predictive approach to managing campus energy consumption and the provision of heating, cooling and energy services to meet those needs far more efficiently -- at sustainable, continuing reductions in energy costs of more than 20 percent annually.

"We are pleased to have earned this award from the AeA and Harvey Mudd College because it recognizes the value and long-term significance of the IncuityCEM approach to energy management," said Doug Lawson, Incuity CEO. "Not only can this solution help campuses of all types achieve significant reductions in annual energy costs but it can help them achieve sustainable reductions in their carbon footprints, which are becoming ever more critical as institutions deal with their contributions to global warming issues."

IncuityCEM is a software-based solution that helps facilities managers create a data model of an entire campus to monitor all supply and consumption of electricity, fuels, chilled water and steam for campus buildings. It allows users to factor in data on external conditions -- such as localized weather forecasts, activity calendars and current energy market pricing -- to build a predictive model for hourly energy needs for the succeeding 24 hours. Data representing the supply and consumption of energy can be retrieved from the relevant production control systems and building meters from which IncuityCEM's powerful analysis tools can create trends, plots and reports on key performance indicators (KPIs). These are published in dashboard pages in the Incuity portal, where any authorized user can access critical data on the campus website or over the Internet simply by viewing them in browsers. Actual energy usage is overlaid on the predicted energy trends to spot anomalies that may indicate if control systems are out of bounds, so they can be corrected far more quickly.
