Industry Association Advances Timely Life Settlement Issues at Two-Day Event

ORLANDO, FL--(Marketwire - September 27, 2007) - This week, the Life Insurance Settlement Association (LISA) concluded its first-ever Producer Seminar and second Broker Summit. These two highly successful working-events brought together LISA members and non-members from all industry segments. Collectively, this diverse gathering benefited from the expert guidance of leading life settlement professionals. The events were convened simultaneously and provided platforms for vigorous debate and constructive dialogue on the critical issues facing the industry today.

The Broker Summit, an essential forum for industry players, produced a series of practical discussions on issues ranging from broker disclosure to best practices and serving the greater interests of consumers. In round-table fashion, this LISA Members-only event provided for serious consideration of the issues in a manner benefiting the industry and ultimately, consumers. LISA is actively supporting and facilitating dialogue among its members to develop a more efficient market. "Events like the Broker Summit provide our members the ideal environment to voice their concerns and discuss ideas to help develop a more efficient market and better serve consumers," says Doug head, LISA Executive Director. "LISA members are leading professionals in the life settlement market. As such, they understand the importance of proactively leading the industry to new levels of service. We have plans to develop other focused summits to help facilitate engagement among the different sectors of the life settlement industry," adds Mr. Head.

On the Producer front, insurance professionals gathered to exchange ideas and learn from a select group of life settlement specialists. Topics covered for producers included agent compliance, licensing, taxation and the legal concept of fiduciary duty among many others. In addition to the regular Producer Seminar events, a special forum focusing on the fundamentals of life settlements offered continuing education credit (CE) to participants.

Post-event surveys performed by LISA yielded highly positive attendee experiences and constructive feedback. Attendees reported that the information presented was timely and beneficial to their business interests. Given the rapid growth of the industry and the success of this premier event, LISA expects demand for additional specialized events to rise and, the Association reports, it is ready to meet that demand.

Established in 1994, the Life Insurance Settlement Association is the oldest and largest trade organization in the industry. Its goal is to promote the development, integrity, and reputation of the life settlement industry, and to promote a competitive market for the people it serves. LISA now represents 161 members with a wide variety of interests in the industry. For more about the Association, visit
