Infinera Delivers Vision on Optical Networks for the Cloud at PTC
| Source: Infinera
SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwire - January 18, 2010) - Infinera (NASDAQ : INFN ) Vice President of
Network Strategy, Chris Liou, will explain how Digital Optical Networks can
support growing use of cloud computing and cloud-based network applications
at the Pacific Telecommunications Conference (PTC) this week. Mr. Liou will
speak today at the session on Networking Challenges & Cloud Computing.
Infinera's Digital Optical Networks architecture provides scalability,
flexibility, and intelligence to optical networks, enabling them to support
the needs of cloud-based applications for greater bandwidth and
responsiveness to changing demands. Infinera's digital architecture is
based on large-scale photonic integration that integrates dozens of optical
devices onto a pair of chips. Infinera networks have been deployed by large
service providers and Internet content providers worldwide.
"Infinera's digital optical network architecture offers the level of
scalability, network efficiency, bandwidth flexibility, and
reconfigurability that service providers need to meet the dynamic needs of
cloud computing infrastructures," commented Infinera's Chris Liou.
"Infinera's Bandwidth Virtualization approach enables a new level of
dynamic optical resource sharing and flexibility that delivers bandwidth to
cloud computing applications when and where it's needed."
The Pacific Telecommunications Conference will take place January 17-20 at
the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Honolulu. Chris Liou will be speaking on
Monday, January 18th from 3:30-5:00 pm. Infinera will host a hospitality
suite with Infinera executives and sales staff in the Tapa Tower, rooms
1029 and 1030 at the Hilton. Further conference information is available at
