Infocast's 4th Annual Midstream Gas Summit Coincides With a Welcome Revival in the Natural Gas Market

Exxon Mobil's $29B Purchase of XTO Energy and Petrohawk Energy's Nomination as One of the "10 Best Stocks of 2010" Signify the Lull in the Midstream Gas Industry Is Over!

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - December 17, 2009) - Infocast has announced they will hold their 4th Annual Edition of the Midstream Gas Summit at the Hilton Americas - Houston Hotel in Houston, Texas, March 1-3, 2010 -- and the timing couldn't be better!

Earlier this week, Exxon Mobil, the world's largest publicly traded oil company, announced it had agreed to buy natural gas company, XTO Energy, for $29B. In addition, CNNMoney has nominated Petrohawk, an oil and gas exploration and production company as one of The 10 Best Stocks for 2010 based on their ramped-up production on 300,000 acres of Haynesville Shale, a lucrative natural-gas play that, until recently, had been thought too difficult to access. Both announcements have bolstered the midstream gas industry which had been dormant for the majority of 2009. "Exxon is the group leader and it sets the trend. I would expect more acquisitions in the next three to six months," confirmed Fadel Gheit, senior energy analyst for Opppenheimer, in a December 14th Associated Press article written by Mark Williams. And indeed, European oil companies are already cutting deals with Chesapeake Energy.

The one thing companies like Chesapeake and Petrohawk have in common (aside from their imminently projected growth) is that they're among the participants at Infocast's upcoming Midstream Gas Summit. Summit Chairman, Jim Benson, a Founding Partner of Energy Spectrum Capital, will oversee some 30+ leading speakers including senior representatives from Crosstex Energy, Goldman Sachs, Spectra Energy, Barclays Capital, Caiman Energy and General Electric Energy Financial Services.
