Infonetics Research Validates Camiant Leadership in Policy Control

Analyst Report Calls Out Verizon Wireless LTE Deployment, Increased Market Share, Standards Support and Strong Partnerships

MARLBOROUGH, MA and MAIDENHEAD, UK--(Marketwire - March 25, 2010) -  Camiant Inc., the leading provider of policy control technology today announced that the April 2010 Infonetics Research report, "2010 Policy Servers Biannual Worldwide and Regional Market Size, Share, and Forecasts" validates the company's continued policy control leadership.

The Infonetics Research report highlights the Verizon Wireless deployment of Camiant's Multimedia Policy Engine (MPE) as the Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF) for Verizon Wireless' previously announced nationwide deployment of a 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network, Camiant's increased market share, early support for industry standards and strong partnerships. This report follows on the heels of the Infonetics Research "Policy Server Vendor Ratings: Global Service Provider Survey" in which global service providers named Camiant as a top vendor 2.5 times more often than the nearest competitor.

The 2010 Policy Server report notes that Camiant is the only policy control player named in the top 4 in both the fixed and wireless markets, building on a market leading dozen UMTS/HSPA/LTE deployments including Verizon Wireless and Vodafone, as well as deployments on a wide range of other networks including CDMA, DOCSIS, DSL and FTTx.

The Infonetics Research report notes the policy server market will reach $1.4B, with the bulk of that growth to occur in the wireless market as operators deploy policy server platforms to manage network resources and policy based authorization and control for applications and services such as voice, video and multimedia content.

"Camiant has gained considerable traction in the wireless space, including its recently-announced contract with Verizon Wireless to provide policy control capabilities for its LTE deployment in 2010," said Shira Levine, Directing Analyst, Next Gen OSS & Policy Infonetics Research.

"This latest Infonetics Research report points to what over 30 top tier operators already know -- that Camiant is the trusted go-to leader for independent, standards-based, policy control," said Susie Kim Riley, Founder and Chief Technology Officer for Camiant, Inc. "We provide the best in class policy technology, and now more than ever before, operators recognize the high value and savings that Camiant's MPE enables them to realize in their networks."

Earlier this year, Camiant received the highest marks in seven of eight categories in the Infonetics Research "Policy Server Vendor Ratings: Global Service Provider Survey." Infonetics interviewed 15 service providers from EMEA, North America and Asia Pacific that have already implemented policy servers or will deploy policy servers in 2010. Service providers familiar with Camiant (73% of operators interviewed) rated it 30% to 40% higher than the nearest competitor on technology leadership, product roadmap, management and price-to-performance ratio.
