Innovotech Inc.: MBEC BioProducts Technology Instrumental in Advanced Regulatory Approval Claim for Catheter

EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - June 5, 2006) - Innovotech Inc. (TSX VENTURE:IOT): Bard Access Systems has been granted US Food & Drug Administration, 510k approval for BioBloc™, a coated dialysis and central venous catheter. Of significance, the product received approval for an anti-adherence duration of action claim of 21 days. The entire testing process, to product approval, was completed in less than one year by MBEC BioProducts and using MBEC surface adhesion testing technology.

"This approval clearly establishes the flexibility and reproducibility of MBEC technology in providing scientific rationale for regulatory claims for any implant medical device" states Ken Boutilier, President, MBEC BioProducts.

About MBEC BioProducts Inc.

MBEC BioProducts is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Innovotech Inc, a publicly traded company on the Toronto Venture Exchange in Canada trading under the symbol "IOT". MBEC's expertise is microbial biofilms, a well documented state of microorganisms, which causes virtually all chronic human infections with similar implications in agriculture and other industrial fields. It is in this biofilm state that microorganisms are highly resistant to antibiotics and disinfectants. The company uses its patented technology, the MBEC Assay, to develop antimicrobial products and diagnostic tests to treat biofilm infections and infestations. The company also conducts contract research, partly to offset its operating costs, but most importantly to maintain awareness of unmet client needs, thereby advancing the development of next generation products.

The TSX Venture Exchange does not accept responsibility for the adequacy or accuracy of this release.
