HAMILTON, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - May 16, 2006) -

Attention: News/Business Reporters

Local golf event is one of many being held by CAs across Ontario

On May 16, Hamilton Chartered Accountants and their colleagues teed it up at the Dundas Valley Golf & Country Club to play a winning round for Ontario kids. Organizers raised $4,000 from the event last year, with the money going to the McMaster Children's Hospital, and would like to increase their donation this year.

According to its website, McMaster Children's Hospital is one of the largest pediatric healthcare facilities in Canada and the second busiest in Ontario. Over 40 pediatric clinics within McMaster Children's Hospital help young patients with asthma, cancer, developmental disorders and virtually any illness.

The Hamilton and District CA Association Annual Children's Charity Golf Day event is just one of several being held throughout the summer by local CA District Associations across the province in support of children's charities. Across the province, the CA Golf Day for Children's Charities has raised more than half a million dollars since its inception in 1996.

"As Chartered Accountants, we take a special interest in helping the communities in which we serve," said Brian Hunt, FCA, President and CEO of the Institute. "The CA Golf Day for Children's Charities in Hamilton is another opportunity for us to ensure children have the help they need to thrive and succeed."
