IntelliDOT™ Corporation Announces Their 20th Successful Facility-Wide Implementation of Bar Code Medication Administration at Physician's Regional Medical Center, Pine Ridge

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - October 30, 2007) - IntelliDOT™ Corporation, a healthcare industry leader in providing information management platforms for patient safety and clinician efficiencies, announced today the successful facility-wide implementation of its 20th CAREt™ Bedside Medication Administration (BMA) System at Physician's Regional Medical Center, Pine Ridge. Physician's Regional is an 83-bed acute care hospital owned and operated by Health Management Associates (HMA), located in Naples, Florida.

The turn-key implementation was initiated on May 8, 2007 with a dedicated on-site IntelliDOT team. The entire hospital was fully implemented on October 9, 2007, 154 days after project kickoff.

IntelliDOT's Bedside Medication Administration System eliminates medication errors by using a clinician-designed bar code scanning device to verify medication orders and check "the five rights" -- right patient, drug, dose, route and time, at the point-of-care. At 8 oz., a 14 hour battery life, and a simple user interface, the CAREt Handheld device is easily carried for the entire shift by the clinician. The BMA module interconnects with the Hospital Information System (HIS), providing the caregiver with information anywhere in the facility while collecting critical information at the point-of-care. The CAREt System can also guide phlebotomists and nurses through the specimen collection process, match mothers and babies with the correct containers of breast milk, and accurately collect and record key vital signs information using the same handheld device.
