International Datacasting Corporation Selected to Provide Content Distribution System for Telmex Digital Signage Network

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 22, 2007) - International Datacasting Corporation (TSX:IDC) and Media Innovations, an affiliate of CIE-one of the largest entertainment and commercial advertising companies in Mexico, announced that IDC's state-of-the-art Datacast XD content distribution and management system was selected to provide content distribution for Telmex's digital signage network.

Telmex, one of Latin Americas largest telecommunications companies, will use IDC system at it retail store locations throughout Mexico. Media Innovations will generate advertisements and promotional videos files for their customer Telmex and send them to Telmex's central site using International Datacasting's XD Portal, a module of the Datacast XD system. The files will then be automatically distributed to all of the Telmex retail sites with the use of IDC's SFX2100 multimedia server appliance. The SFX2100 contains the client module of Datacast XD and an integrated hard drive that provides store-and-forward that enables files to be stored remotely. Once the new files have been received by the Datacast XD client, it will start an FTP session from the SFX 2100 to update all digital signage processors with their respective content and instructions for play out in the stores.

"IDC's Content delivery system complement our customer's digital network by providing the ability to manage the delivery of video and lives feeds to the stores," said Alejandro Machorro, Director of Digital Media for Media Innovations.

IDC President and CEO Ron Clifton commented, "This is an important project for IDC, as it provides an excellent venue to showcase our leading-edge content delivery network. There is a whole new trend opening up in the industry with dynamic media providing businesses and merchandisers a valuable marketing tool to promote their brand. IDC has been at the forefront of supplying this technology to many customers worldwide."

The first phase of system is scheduled to be deployed this month with further systems being added to the other 360 Telmex stores nationwide, over the next year.
