International Datacasting Corporation Showcasing New Products at IBC

New IPTV Blade Receiver and Tiernan Video products a highlight

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 03, 2009) - International Datacasting Corporation, (TSX:IDC) a global leader in providing advanced solutions for the distribution of broadband multimedia content via satellite, announced today that it will be releasing new products for all of its key vertical markets at the International Broadcast Convention, (IBC), taking place at the Amsterdam RAI Centre from September 11 to 15.

IBC is the leading global event for international industry professionals involved in the creation, management and delivery of entertainment and news content. IDC, along with their European subsidiary PROFLine B.V, their new Tiernan Video product line team and their strategic partner Sensio Technologies will be showcasing their new products and applications at IBC in Hall 1, Booth C.29.

A highlight of IDC's booth will be the unveiling of IDC's next generation PRO IPTV blade receiver and the first time showing of the recently acquired Tiernan line of digital video compression and decompression products. The Tiernan product line includes High Definition ("HD") and Standard Definition ("SD") video encoders (MPEG2 and H.264 MPEG4), video receivers, interface converters for a broad range of television contribution and distribution network applications. The product line also includes satellite equipment originally developed and marketed by Comstream for professional radio broadcast applications. IDC announced the acquisition of the Tiernan product lines earlier this month.

"This is an exciting IBC for us this year. In addition to launching our highly innovative Pro IPTV blade receiver and formally unveiling the exciting Tiernan line of products, we have a host of other new products that we are announcing and demonstrating," said Ron Clifton, IDC President and CEO. "In this year of troubled economic times we are particularly pleased to be able to continue providing new products and applications for our diverse, leading edge customers," he added.

In addition to IDC's full line products including the new Tiernan portfolio, IDC will be showcasing the following new and enhanced products at IBC 2009:

- Superflex SFX ProIPTV - Built on IDC's success in the IPTV market, IDC is launching the SFX ProIPTV at IBC this year. With room for up to 14 dual carrier hot-swappable receiver blades per chassis, the ProIPTV is ideal for Telco's and multi-dwelling units, (MDU's), where space is at a premium - the 6RU configuration reduces cost and power consumption and allows for a 75% space savings. The unique design of the ProIPTV allows the user to purchase the modules and configuration that is best suited for their needs and can grow as the demands on the network increase. IDC's IPTV solutions also feature high throughput M:N redundancy for fail-safe operation of a large number of channels over multiple transponders with MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 AVC encoding, a choice of industry standard decryption/CAS options, transport stream delivery over IP and built-in IP multicasting for ease of integration with Telco, CATV and other broadband IPTV distribution networks.

- The SuperFlex Pro Cinema 3D Live Encoder and Decoder, with leading Sensio® 3-D technology onboard, will be another highlight of the IDC booth. The latest feature to be added to the Pro Cinema encoders allows for the broadcast of ultra-high resolution 2D content at 1080p60. IDC, along with Sensio, will be showcasing its live 3D products and technology at IBC this year. Visitors to the IDC booth will be able to view all of the action in the booth and on the surrounding show floor in live, high definition 3D. In addition, Sensio will be receiving an IBC award for Technology Achievement from the Sports Video Group for our joint participation in the 3D broadcast of the French Open tennis tournament earlier this summer.

- The Superflex SFX 2020 - The latest addition to IDC's suite of video receivers, the SFX 2020 is designed to meet the demanding requirements of large Business TV (BTV) networks where cost effective digital connectivity and quality are important. With leading edge audio decoding and the ability to decode HD or SD video encoded with MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 AVC, the SFX2020 comes complete with Datacast XD Content Distribution and Management software on board to enable content delivery to the hard drive for on-demand viewing.

- PROFline Professional Broadcast Radio Products - In addition to its complete line of products for FM Radio broadcast and satellite distribution for customers in Europe and around the world, PROFline will be showcasing the two newest members of its product line at IBC 2009. The Edge FM is an 8 channel digital FM modulator in a single RU configuration, which provides the operator with an immediate space savings. The Edge FM comes complete with 8 channel MPEG-over-IP inputs via Gigabit-Ethernet and MPEG-4 HE AAC. With no restrictions, all channels on the Edge FM are fully agile at 87.5 to 108 Mhz. High broadcast quality RF parameters, unbeatable spectral purity and a variety of options for ease of configuration round out the features of the Edge FM.

PROFline will also be releasing their new STR-II -- an ultra low symbol rate satellite audio broadcast receiver. It has been designed for a smaller regional broadcast radio networks, but is equally adept in a larger network environment where cost is concern. The STR-II provides MPEG-over-IP Gigabit-Ethernet in and out. Virtually plug and play, the STR-II comes with a network management option to allow for remote control and management of the receivers throughout the network.
