International Datacasting Corporation to Showcase Latest Products at SATCON in NYC

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 13, 2009) - International Datacasting Corporation (TSX:IDC), a global leader in advanced systems for broadband multimedia content distribution, announced today a lineup of new and expanded products it plans to showcase at SATCON, October 14 and 15, (booth #700) at the Javits Center in New York City.

SATCON, part of Content and Communications World (CCW), is an important annual gathering for professionals from media and entertainment, government and military, telcos and enterprise, as well as systems integrators and service providers. The conference and exhibits highlight the latest advances and trends in the field of content creation, management and delivery for satellite and hybrid terrestrial networks.

"Today network operators are looking for ways to do more with fewer resources. Our products can help them work smarter. With our recent acquisition of the Tiernan product lines and the new IDC products being launched, we are rounding out both our product family and our ability to provide smart solutions to an expanding range of customers," said Ron Clifton, IDC President and CEO

  • IDC's expanded product lines will be on display including Tiernan High Definition ("HD") and Standard Definition ("SD") MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 AVC video encoders and decoders for television contribution and distribution applications.
  • Satcon marks the North American debut of the SFX ProIPTV, a blade-server ideal for IPTV and other heavy traffic applications. The ProIPTV is flexible and scalable, housing up to 14 dual carrier hot-swappable receiver blades in a 6RU chassis. It supports M:N redundancy and a choice of industry-standard decryption/CAS options. By scaling the professional functionality into a compact form factor, the ProIPTV saves money, power consumption and space — important drivers enabling IPTV implementation.
  • Ron Clifton will be presenting "Satellite Technology for the Distribution of 3D Digital Cinema Content" October 14, from 12:30pm to 1:00pm at the Content Theatre located on the show floor and IDC's booth will feature a display of 3D technology.

"We are excited to be unveiling new products and reaching into new markets," Ron Clifton concluded. "Our expanded team is looking forward to connecting with partners and customers, both old and new, at the SATCON show."
