The International Motorcycle Manufacturers Association (IMMA) Conference Held in Toronto May 5-9, 2008

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 2, 2008) - The Motorcycle & Moped Industry Council (MMIC), Canada's national motorcycle manufacturers trade association is hosting the 2008, International Motorcycle Manufacturers Association (IMMA) conference throughout the week of May 5 - 9 at the Le Royal Meridian King Edward Hotel.

"MMIC, as an associate member of IMMA and this years host for the annual conference is looking forward to the opportunity to discuss significant new developments that are happening at a global level pertaining to the technical standards and road safety," commented Bob Ramsay, President of the MMIC. "With individuals such as Dr. Nick Rogers, Secretary General of IMMA, along with representatives from Asia, Western, Eastern and Northern Europe, and North and South America in attendance, discussion will focus on new and evolving global standards."

Currently IMMA participates in the work of: " the United Nations committees on vehicle construction and road safety " the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) " the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) " the Asian Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC) organization " the European Council of Ministers of Transport (ECMT).

The MMIC, as the national non-profit trade association, originally founded in 1971, represents the responsible interests of major motorcycle and scooter manufacturers, and distributors.
