Interthinx® Introduces Free Class on Mortgage Document Fraud

Interthinx Aids Ailing Mortgage Industry With Another Effective Training Resource

AGOURA HILLS, CA--(Marketwire - January 15, 2008) - Interthinx®, a unit of ISO, and the leading provider of proven risk mitigation, mortgage fraud prevention, and regulatory compliance tools for the mortgage industry, announced it is making available to the financial services industry free online training on Mortgage Document Fraud. This latest offering to help lenders stem the tide of overwhelming mortgage fraud expands the Interthinx mission by leveraging proven and powerful automated systems in concert with relevant employee training.

Introduction to Mortgage Document Fraud 100 is the first in a series of online self-paced fraud training classes developed by the Interthinx team, which includes combined experience of 150 years in mortgage fraud detection. This 30-minute class identifies "red flags" to fraud in all types of documents including:

-- suspect signatures

-- misuse of fax information

-- data misalignment

-- implausible dates among other topics

"Fraud was, no doubt, an enormous contributing factor to the subprime meltdown and ensuing foreclosure climate," stated Kevin Coop, president of Interthinx. "Interthinx believes that lenders should deploy proven, automated risk mitigation tools in concert with employee training on basic loan file red flags. We hope this free online course, in addition to our industry training films, will guide many lenders and their employees down the path of prevention and quality in this unforgiving market."

"Upcoming online self-paced classes in the Document Fraud Series will take the participant through a document-by-document examination of mortgage loan documents," stated Brett Waterman, vice president of operations for Interthinx. "The online sessions will note what areas are often potential 'red flags' and where document fraud may exist."

Interthinx continues to expand its curriculum to meet customer needs for beginner, intermediate and advanced user training. Thirty-five unique courses are currently offered to users in various roles in the mortgage industry as instructor-led online and on-site product training where appropriate. Some of these courses will soon also be available as online self-paced classes.

Interthinx also offers customized training courses, where appropriate, to provide instruction on how to use Interthinx products with specific loan origination systems and individual company policy and procedures. Additionally, information on the award-winning Interthinx industry training film, "FSI," and the soon-to-be-released, "Fraud Angels" can be found at www.FSIMovie.com and www.FraudAngels.com, respectively.
