Invensys Presents Operational and Business Excellence Solutions at 2007 ISPE Annual Meeting

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - November 5, 2007) - ISPE ANNUAL MEETING -- Invensys Process Systems' pharmaceutical industry specialists are presenting operational and business excellence solutions in several different venues at this year's International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering's (ISPE) Annual Meeting in Las Vegas. These include a seminar on operational and business excellence on November 7th, and exhibits on enterprise performance optimization and validation compliance services at Booth # 805, respectively.

"Pharmaceutical manufacturers are seeking new ways to apply enterprise-wide technologies to increase excellence in operational and business performance," said Janice Abel, director, pharmaceutical and biotechnology, Invensys Process Systems. "Toward this end, we'll be discussing a range of practical, cost-effective techniques that can help integrate disparate control systems, manage knowledge more effectively, and increase visibility throughout the entire business process."

On November 7th, Janice Abel will join Wyeth Laboratories technical services manager, Cathy Middelberg in leading a panel exploring the role of existing business and manufacturing systems in improving operational and business excellence. The panel will explore ways to measure and optimize performance across the enterprise. There will be discussion on performance trends, lean manufacturing, and metrics that are being utilized by industry leaders to improve efficiencies. These include Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and other powerful tools. Several case histories will be presented.

Panel members Gary Ward, operations excellence manager for Wyeth Biotech and Stephen Dinka, associate director, corporate engineering business operations for Genentech will discuss operational excellence from a pharmaceutical manufacturer's perspective. Ruediger Dorn, managing director of the worldwide life sciences group for Microsoft, will discuss the role of IT in fostering operational and business excellence. Additionally Charlie Nicastro, director, business development for Invensys Process Systems will be presenting a client operational excellence case history.

In the exhibit area, Invensys will also present the validation compliance services and their innovative InFusion enterprise control system and technologies offering from the Invensys Validation Technologies group at booth # 805.
